District 12 is the smallest and poorest district out of the 13 Districts

District 12 Up until the events of the 74th hunger games had 3 victors

which only one of them was alive, Lucy Gray Baird and David Green are both victors of past hunger games and David mentored Haymitch into the 50th hunger games, he also became a victor

During the events of ‘74 District 12 has 4 distinct neighbourhoods, The Hob, The Merchant section, The Seam and The Justice hall,

District 12 is also on the edge of a forest which leads Katniss to get into hunting, hence her winning The 74th hunger games
